Day 9(1/15/2026)

Today we had some more time to work on thesis this morning. This was a good opportunity for me to work through my mechanical mode, which has been giving me some trouble. In the afternoon, we took a trip to the Victorian Parliament. It was an absolutely incredible building. It was built in the 1850s during the Victorian gold rush, so it had some amazing architecture, with real gold accents. It was also really cool to learn more about how a parliamentary government system works. Although it is similar to the American government, there are major differences when it comes to the actual function of the government. Once we left the Parliament building, we had a couple of hours before dinner, so we walked around Melbourne and visited the AC/DC memorial. For dinner, we went to a really cool Greek restaurant. Melbourne is a super cool city, with some extremely interesting architecture, both historic and modern.

Kyle, I completely agree that the parliament buildings architecture is amazing. I found the level of detail within it so compelling, and it intrigued me on how it was constructed so long ago. What means and methods did they use to construct it? The chair for the king was what truly blew me away, as it has been there for hundreds of years and real kings have sat in it in the past.
