Today we went on a jobsite visit to a $700 million data center out past Parramatta, and it was a really impressive experience. Getting to see a project of that scale up close was super cool and definitely one of the highlights from a construction perspective. The size of the site and the level of coordination required really stood out, especially with how many different systems and trades are involved in a project like that.
It was interesting to see how specialized the construction process is for a data center compared to a typical building. There is a much bigger focus on infrastructure, power, and mechanical systems, and everything seemed very precise and planned out. You can tell how critical these facilities are just based on the level of detail and control on site.
Overall, I really enjoyed the visit and getting the chance to experience a project of that magnitude. It was a great opportunity to see how large scale, high value construction projects are executed in the real world.
