Today was St. Patrick’s Day, and it ended up being a really fun and memorable day. In the morning, we met with the construction department at the University of New South Wales, which was a great experience. It was interesting to hear about their program and see how construction education is approached here compared to what we are used to. Getting that different perspective was valuable, especially being able to connect it back to what we have been learning.
After that, we went out to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at a few Irish pubs around Sydney. The atmosphere was great everywhere we went, with a lot of people out celebrating and a ton of energy throughout the city. It was cool to experience a holiday like that in a different country and still see how big of a deal it is.
Overall, it was a great mix of academics and fun, and definitely one of the more memorable days of the trip.
