Today was a really cool day, even though it was a bit more low key to start. We spent most of the morning working on thesis, and it felt good to make some solid progress. It’s always nice having a chunk of time to just sit down and focus, especially with everything starting to come together.
Later in the day, we went to the Auckland Sky Tower, which was definitely the highlight. Seeing it up close was impressive, but going up to the top was a completely different experience. The views were unreal, you could see all of Auckland and the water surrounding it, and it really puts into perspective how big the city is.
That being said, I definitely realized I’m more scared of heights than I thought. Walking around at the top and looking straight down through the glass sections was a little sketchy. It was one of those things where it’s really cool, but at the same time you’re very aware of how high up you are.
Overall, it was a great mix of getting work done and then doing something memorable. Even with the height thing, I’m really glad we went.
