Today we took a trip out to Waiheke Island, and it ended up being one of my favorite days of the trip so far. The weather was not ideal. It was cold and raining most of the day. But honestly, that kind of made it more memorable.
We rented scooters and explored pretty much the whole island. I am sure we looked ridiculous, nine college guys riding around in the rain, but it was hilarious and completely worth it. Once we got moving, we forgot about the weather.
The views were unreal. Every time we turned a corner there was another overlook of the coastline or rolling hills that looked like it belonged on a postcard. Even with the clouds and mist, or maybe because of them, everything looked dramatic and beautiful. It felt like one of those days where you are a little uncomfortable but having way too much fun to care.
Definitely a day I will not forget anytime soon.
