We started today with a visit to Haydn & Rollett. It was really cool to see how commercial construction works here compared to back home. A lot of the processes are similar, but there are small differences in how they manage projects and coordinate trades. It was interesting hearing about the kinds of projects they take on and how the industry feels a little tighter knit over here.
After that we made a very important stop at a New Zealand Taco Bell. It was solid, but I have to say it does not hit the same as the American version. Something about it just felt slightly different. Still worth trying though.
For most of the rest of the day we were locked in working on thesis since our project plan was due at midnight. It was one of those grind days where everyone is staring at their laptops, double checking everything and making sure nothing gets missed. Stressful, but also kind of satisfying once it is all coming together.
To end the day, I went to dinner with my dad. It was a really nice way to wrap up his trip. We talked about the week, the places we went, and everything we got to see. Saying goodbye was tough since he had to leave the next day, but I am really glad we got that time together. Definitely a day with a little bit of everything.
