Today was a great day. We took a long drive through the countryside and it ended up being one of those days where the drive itself was half the fun. The rolling green hills, farmland, and random sheep everywhere make it hard to even look at your phone. It feels like every turn has a view worth stopping for.
Our first stop was Huka Falls. The water there is the brightest blue I have ever seen in real life. It almost looks fake. The falls are not super tall, but the amount of water rushing through that narrow gap is insane. You can hear it before you even see it. We walked along the path for a bit and just stood there watching it. Definitely one of the cooler natural spots I have seen on this trip.
After that we headed to Kerosene Creek. It is basically a naturally heated stream tucked into the forest. The water is warm because of the geothermal activity underground, so you can just sit in it like it is a hot tub. It was super relaxing and honestly a perfect break from being in the car for a while. Just sitting in warm water in the middle of the woods felt unreal.
To finish the day, we went to Hobbiton Movie Set. Even if you are not a huge Lord of the Rings fan, it is really cool to see in person. The detail in the hobbit holes, the gardens, and all the little props is impressive. It actually feels like a real little village instead of just a movie set. Walking through it with the hills in the background was a pretty cool way to end the day.
It was a long day with a lot of driving, but it was completely worth it. Days like this make the trip feel even more memorable.
