Today was a great way to wrap up our time in Melbourne. We visited the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, and it ended up being a really valuable experience. We learned a lot about their construction and engineering programs, especially their approach to VDC and how integrated technology is throughout their curriculum. It was interesting to see how hands on and industry focused their program is, and how closely it aligns with real world construction practices.
We also got the chance to hear about their project management club, which was especially cool. Seeing how involved students can get outside the classroom, and how much emphasis they place on collaboration and leadership, really stood out. It gave us a good perspective on how students at RMIT prepare themselves for careers in construction and project management, and it was interesting to compare their approach to what we are used to back home.
Since it was our last day in Melbourne, we made sure to end it on a high note. That evening, we went out for dinner at La Spaghetta, and it was the perfect way to close out the trip. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great, and it felt nice to sit down together and reflect on everything we had experienced over the past few weeks.
Leaving Melbourne was bittersweet. It is a beautiful city with so much character, and we packed a lot into our time there. Between the site visits, school tours, and exploring the city, it felt like every day offered something new. I am definitely going to miss Melbourne, but I am grateful for the experiences and memories we made while we were there.
