Today officially marks two weeks into our trip, which is kind of crazy to think about because it is definitely flying by. It already feels like we just got here, and at the same time we have done so much. I am really trying to be aware of how fast it’s going and not take this opportunity for granted.
We went to the Melbourne Museum today, and it ended up being a really interesting experience. The museum had a ton of cool exhibits, covering everything from Australian and Indigenous history to science displays and massive dinosaur fossils. Seeing the fossils in person was probably one of my favorite parts, just because of how big and detailed they were. It was also interesting learning more about Australia’s past and how the land, animals, and people have shaped the country over time. It felt like the kind of place where you could spend an entire day and still not see everything.
Later on, we got a chance to watch the College Football National Championship, which was a nice reminder of home. It was fun being able to keep up with something so familiar while being on the other side of the world. We also celebrated my roommate Zeb’s birthday, which was a great way to end the day.
